2021 Annual Report 

Mai i Waitapu ki Rangataua, mai i Mīria te kakara ki Kukutauaki. The Raukawa ki te Tonga tribal area stretches from south of Te Horo, through to Ōtaki, the Horowhenua, Manawatū up to the Rangitīkei River

Raukawa ki Te Tonga Trust is the kaitiaki of the Raukawa ki te Tonga fisheries settlement assets.
We manage and grow the assets to ultimately benefit our people.

Raukawa ki te Tonga Trust (the Trust).

The Trust was established in 2010 by Iwi members as the Mandated Iwi Organisation (MIO), under the Māori Fisheries Act 2004 (the Act), for Raukawa ki te Tonga in respect of fisheries matters. 

Our fisheries assets were received in a settlement with the Crown of the Ngāti Raukawa commercial fisheries claim. Those assets were transferred to the Trust in 2010 by Te Ohu Kaimoana (TOKM) - the body responsible for allocation.  Read more

 

2021 Distribution Applications Now Open

Details regarding the 2021 Distribution Round are below.

  • Open 6 April 2021
  • Close 6 July 2021
  • $200,000 available for a-e below
  • $79,000 available for f below

Priorities for Applications:

a) Marae, Iwi and Hapū of Raukawa ki te Tonga.

b)Other Raukawa ki te Tonga entities.

c)Te Reo Māori focus.

d)Environmental projects.

e)Projects that benefit future generations of Raukawa ki te Tonga.

f)Projects directly related to charitable fisheries purposes.

Annual General Meeting for the Year Ended 30 September 2020

The Annual General Meeting of the Raukawa ki te Tonga Trust will be held at Te Tikanga Marae on 28 March 2021 at 1pm.

Kai will be served at 12noon for those that are available. 

All beneficiaries and members of the Trust are welcome to attend.

Wai Ora Funding Round 2021 – Now Open

Te Wai Māori Trust is now seeking applications for the 2021 Wai Ora Fund. This year, Te Wai Māori Trust has made $200,000 available through the fund which was established in 2012. Te Wai Māori administers and distributes the contestable fund to enable Māori to obtain funding and develop expertise to promote and advance Māori interests in freshwater fisheries through development, research, and education.
